Health Research is a subsidiary of AngloGold
Health Service and is involved in HIV vaccine
trial preparation for future phase II and II
trials. At present, research is focused on community
education and vaccine preparedness activities. The
aim is to develop and sustain a Community Advisory
Group (CAG) and to implement a site-specific
community education plan to ensure broad community
support for and participation in HIV vaccine
R&D.
The community preparedness and education programme
identifies four objectives relating to raising
community awareness, fostering trust, community
facilitation and mobilisation.
