Vice president of the Elizabeth Glaser Paediatric AIDS Foundation, Mark Isaac, sent the following comment in support of the partnership.

"The partnership between SAAVI and the Nelson Mandela Foundation is a tremendous step towards bringing an HIV vaccine to adolescents," said Mark Isaac, vice president of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. "Children and youth are not just small adults. A vaccine for adolescents must be tested in adolescents to ensure optimal safety and effectiveness in that population. Our future generations deserve an equal opportunity to benefit from a vaccine that could stop the spread of AIDS."
